Funding from the Fund for Care for Wards of State
The Fund for Care for Wards of State is a corporation established by the General Legal Guardianship Center at the Ministry of Justice and it is authorized to handle matters related to Wards of State, to protect their property and their rights. The Fund for Care for Wards of State assists those who are eligible in a variety of fields: nursing care, financial and legal assistance, real estate claims, etc. The funding also includes nursing caregivers who are partially funded by the State of Israel in accordance to the government’s Nursing Care Law.
Who is eligible for assistance from the Fund for Care for Wards of State?
Wards of State are people for whom a guardianship order was granted based on a court order, primarily in the following cases:

- Patients with physical or mental illnesses, hospitalized or living in the community, who are not capable of meeting their own needs and expressing a matter-of-fact and measured opinion with regard to their fate and who require nursing care.
- Senior citizens who have difficulty in functioning, who are not eligible for protection and exercising of their rights; and consequently, they are prevented proper treatment that can provide them with quality of life.
- Minors who cannot represent themselves, meet their own needs or protect their property.
